“My parents never mentioned anything to me about fairies. I actually didn’t realize fairies existed.” The Queen said, “I remember an old story, taken from the Fae scrolls. The story tells of someone possessing blood from several fabled races bringing all races together to live in peace. The Fae live in hiding and have for thousands of years. We are hunted for our magic and our sweet, healing blood. Your parents were wise to protect you while you were a child. A human child containing fairy blood would be in much danger. Now that you are an adult, learning protection measures must be a priority. I must insist you speak with your parents on this matter at once.” I said, “I’ll talk to them as soon as I get home. Being fairy would be an important piece of information to leave out.” Queen Luna said, “A human-fae child would be easily captured and forced to use fairy magic or drained of their powerful blood. A pure fairy masks themselves to avoid capture and danger. A human-fae child may not posses this ability. Human-fae people all over the world are hunted once suspected of being fairy.” She paused and said, “The auras surrounding you are strong and not all Fae. You are unique indeed and may be the child of the scroll lore. If this is true, you will need to be protected for the rest of your existence. If you are indeed this child, you will be the most hunted being of us all.” Now Queen Luna scared me. I wanted to leave but I also wanted more information. “Why would being the scroll lore child make me or anyone the most hunted? Who would be hunting me?” Queen Luna said, “I am afraid I spoke out of turn, my dear. It is most obvious that you have not been told of your Fae ancestry and I must apologize for frightening you. You must allow your parents the opportunity to explain your lineage. I do not know why this information was withheld from you. That being said, it is of the utmost importance that you know your genetics, for the safety of your life.” I had tears in my eyes and said, “Please, won’t you tell me more?” Queen Luna said, “I will tell you what I suspect to be truth then you must return to your parents for further inquiry. If you are the lore’s child, dominant races will want you captured or killed. Other races want to be the superior race and do not want to live in harmony with any other race. They want to rule over all. You would most certainly prove to be a danger to them.” “I had no idea any of this animosity existed between all the different races. I suppose that’s why we always live away from any of our kind. Maybe my parents were attempting to protect me but why keep the information from me now?” “I cannot answer for your parents. Be assured we will extend to you our protection as long as you remain in our domain. It would be prudent for you to learn more locations of fairy communities around the world. You may also need their assistance at some point in your endeavors.” I said, “Thank you and I am going to discuss this with my parents. You’ve given me a lot to process and a frankly, it’s all a little frightening. I’m not at all happy about parts of my ancestry being left out.” “I understand. This information is most important and you need to learn as much as possible in order to protect yourself. You must begin perfecting your healing ability soon. You have possessed this ability since birth but you have not perfected control. Pure fairies are able to heal at a young age so you have much to catch up on.” “But I don’t have the ability to heal. The only ability I have is sort of a psychic thing and that only happens when I touch someone or in my dreams.” Queen Luna smiled, “That is the healing ability. You must learn to use this energy for healing yourself as well as others.” “How do I learn to understand the premonitions and visions I get when touching someone? There is no one that can teach me how to do this.” “The only way to learn control is to use the ability. I suggest you to learn about all of your abilities and quickly. I am afraid you’ve been protected from your gifts and your heritage much too long. Most of our kind learns to use their energy and magic at a very young age so it is perfected by adulthood.” I said, “I can’t change the past so all I can do is go forth and learn from this point.” Nodding her head as if agreeing, Queen Luna said, “A human woman near the lake possesses magical abilities. I here tell she is a gifted and knowledgeable woman. She may be able to assist you in perfecting some of your abilities.” “Yes, I’ve heard of her, I believe her name is Marion. I do plan to visit her soon. Would it be possible for me to visit here again? I think I may be able to learn much from you.” Queen Luna put her hands together and said, “You would honor us with a visit. We would be pleased to assist you in learning the way of the Fae. The songs you sing are love songs to our nature world. Use them with care as when you sing them, things around you listen. Fae hunters have learned our ways and your songs will be known to them. Remember, nature will protect you and in return, you give back protection. This is the way of the Fae. If you are ever in danger, you will see nature respond.” I said, “That actually explains a lot.” The Queen bowed her head to me and flew away. The cave went dark. I tried to mask the entrance of the cave as I left even though the Fairies probably place their own protection.
